Tour Our Home

Welcome to our 1900 Victorian House!

I know, it's not exactly Pinterest-worthy yet, but I would love to take you through and show you some of the amazing things that made my husband, Joel, and I fall in love and choose this to be our first home.

Front Porch

Our front porch is the first stop on this little house tour, and right here at the very beginning I will have to ask you to look at this entire house and "have vision" as my mother in law says. This porch right now is a little wonky (that's only the beginning of the odd angles, slopes and dips in this house!), but I can definitely see this porch with beefier columns, a porch swing, painted some more interesting colors, and possibly screened in. One thing I didn't think too much before about living right next to a river is the insane amount of bugs the water and foliage attracts!

Kitchen

The very first room you walk into through the front door is our kitchen. This is the very first room we decided to tackle - can you say jumping right in over our heads?! We knew the kitchen was dark, had very little storage, and all of the cabinets weren't good quality. What we didn't know was the floor under the sink cabinet was SIGNIFICANTLY lower than the rest of the flooring, and that water damage had occured and rotted out part of the base of the sink cabinet, causing it to start to collapse. (If you look hard, you can see how the drawers and doors do not sit straight on the cabinets...that's why.) We did not have any money saved up for this project, so we have been working on it over the past couple of weeks, spending as we are able, and doing everything on the tiniest budget possible!
